Research and Scholarly Activity
Resident Research
The Henry Ford Health is renowned for generating groundbreaking clinical research. The original TPA NINDS trial, Early Goal Directed Therapy Sepsis trial and more recently the Hydroxychloroquine in COVID RCT are just a few landmark papers which were born out of our health system. Our residents uniquely benefit from access to robust Henry Ford Health biostatistical and public health department experts as well as a well organized IRB. These departments support our research, assist us with design, data analysis and manuscript preparation.
Resident scholarly activity and research is encouraged and supported in our residency program. All PGY1 residents have the opportunity to participate in an extensive ED QI curriculum and their projects are presented at both regional and national scientific conferences. Historically, our residency has successfully published numerous research papers, textbook chapters and case reports which can be viewed for your reference from this link (Historical HFWH Research Publications). Our residents regularly present their research and have won awards at both regional and national scientific conferences, including ACEP, ACOEP, MOA, MCEP, SCS and many others.
