Objectives:
The mission of the residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Henry Ford Macomb is to prepare post-graduate physicians for the practice of Orthopedic Surgery. Orthopedic Surgery is the medical specialty that includes the study of and prevention of musculoskeletal diseases, disorders, and injuries and their treatment by medical, surgical, and physical methods. The trainers will provide experience and education in operative and non-operative procedures. They will provide this through exposure to operative procedures, office experience, and through orthopedic clinic patient management, as well as through formal didactic programs. Graduated residents will be prepared to practice as orthopedic surgeons at the end of their residency.
The Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Henry Ford Macomb is five years of graduate medical education. The curriculum has been constructed to reflect the ACGME Program Requirements in Orthopedic Surgery. We received initial accreditation with the ACGME in September 2018.
