Sites of Care
Clinical and didactic training is focused at our flagship hospital in downtown Detroit. Residents rotate with general surgery at our level 1 tertiary care hospital and develop confidence in caring for complex medical and surgical conditions. Residents participate in care complex trauma patients during their general surgery rotations and on service with OMFS. Residents will also care for complex head and neck cancer patients and participate in microvascular reconstruction during rotations with otolaryngology as well as Oral & Maxillofacial surgery.
We also have brand new clinic space in Royal Oak, Michigan which offers trainees the ability to hone sedation skills and ambulatory OMFS care in an outpatient setting.
The University of Detroit Mercy Dental School was established in 1935 and has been serving Detroit for nearly a century. Currently the school is located at 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd known as the Corktown Campus. The school has a robust Doctor of Dental Surgery program and offers additional training in the following graduate programs: Advanced Education in General Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics. Residents of Henry Ford Hospital will have a clinical rotation at the dental school with an emphasis on dentoalveolar surgery and IV sedation.
