Welcome to the Henry Ford Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program
Welcome to the Henry Ford Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program. We are proud to offer a comprehensive and highly individualized training experience built around one goal: preparing each fellow to become an outstanding clinical neurophysiologist and to excel in the career path they choose.
Our program has exceptional strengths in both epilepsy and neuromuscular medicine, providing fellows with broad exposure as well as opportunities for advanced subspecialty training. We offer multiple training tracks, including split EEG/EMG training, EEG-focused, and EMG-focused tracks, allowing each fellow to tailor their experience to their individual interests and future career goals.
We believe that there is no single “one-size-fits-all” approach to fellowship training. Each fellow’s experience is unique and is designed around their goals, whether they envision a career focused on epilepsy, neuromuscular medicine, academic clinical neurophysiology, or a broader practice. Our faculty work closely with each fellow to identify their strengths and interests and create an experience that maximizes their potential and prepares them for the clinical and professional demands of their future careers.
Advanced Epilepsy Training
Our epilepsy program is a Level 4 Epilepsy Center with extensive experience caring for a diverse and complex patient population. Fellows have access to an 8-bed adult Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and a 4-bed pediatric EMU, providing exposure to a wide range of seizure disorders across the lifespan.
Training encompasses the full spectrum of modern epilepsy care, including advanced EEG interpretation, seizure localization, presurgical evaluation, intracranial EEG, and epilepsy surgery. Fellows have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and advanced intracranial EEG techniques, gaining experience in the evaluation and management of some of the most challenging patients with epilepsy.
Advanced Neuromuscular Training
Our neuromuscular program is equally comprehensive, with highly specialized faculty representing the major disciplines of neuromuscular medicine. Fellows gain experience with a broad spectrum of disorders, including ALS, myasthenia gravis, CIDP, peripheral neuropathies, myopathies, neuromuscular junction disorders, and other complex neuromuscular conditions.
Our fellows also have access to a wide range of advanced diagnostic tools, including single-fiber EMG, neuromuscular ultrasound, and a state-of-the-art autonomic laboratory. This combination of specialized expertise and advanced technology provides fellows with the opportunity to develop both strong foundational skills and expertise in advanced neurophysiologic techniques.
