Frequently Asked Questions
What distinguishes the Henry Ford Hospital Infectious Disease Fellowship from other programs?
The Quality of Education:
Training at an 877 bed tertiary care level 1 trauma center hospital, an education and research complex nationally recognized for clinical excellence, and one of the largest US academic teaching hospitals. Henry Ford Hospital has approximately 170 ICU beds, making it one of the largest ICU providers in the country.
Given our location, we take care of a large urban patient population, and we are also a referral center for many surrounding hospitals and cities, allowing exposure to a broad range of clinical cases.
We have a comprehensive HIV training program, providing care to 2,000 patients living with HIV in our HIV clinic.
There is a strong dedication and emphasis towards the education of fellows. We have a formal didactic lecture five days/week, over 20 lectures monthly, and over 240 didactics yearly.
We have a comprehensive division of 18 Infectious Disease academic faculty providing different subspecialty interests in: HIV, transplant, epidemiology and infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, global health, fungal infections, virology, and multi-drug resistant bacteria.
