Body Imaging Fellowship

The Abdominal and Thoracic Imaging divisions in the department of Radiology at Henry Ford Hospital jointly offer a 12-month, non-accredited fellowship in body imaging.

Henry Ford Hospital is a large multi-specialty academic practice. US News and World Report ranks regularly Henry Ford Hospital in the top 50 Hospitals in multiple specialty areas. We are an active tertiary care center in oncology, organ transplant, gastrointestinal disease, urology, cardiovascular disease and many other specialties. This, combined with an active primary care group, translates to a diverse array of radiological exams with a broad spectrum of pathology.

The radiology department has a large active radiology residency and multiple fellowship programs in Body Imaging, Women's Imaging, Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, and Vascular Interventional Radiology. The department currently performs over 750,000 examinations per year, is fully PACS integrated and utilizes voice recognition dictation. Evening and night coverage are provided by a dedicated group of after-hours radiologists.

The division of Abdominal Imaging encompasses CT, US, MR and cross-sectional interventional procedures. The Thoracic Imaging division includes CT, MR and conventional radiographs of thoracic and cardiovascular studies. The Body Imaging Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital is designed to give the fellow a broad exposure to pathophysiology and imaging modalities in gastrointestinal, genitourinary and thoracic radiology. Since its inception in 1983, the Fellowship has graduated over 90 fellows.

Candidates for the fellowship should successfully have completed a radiology residency. An application must be filed with the inclusion of a CV and three letters of reference for consideration. The program accepts between two and four candidates per year.
