Art Workshops with Detroit College of Creative Studies
The arts have powerful healing properties because art connects your mind and your body. Henry Ford Cancer has teamed up with Detroit's College for Creative Studies to connect our patients and their loved ones with a series of art workshops led by CCS instructors. All supplies are provided at no cost, but please register to participate- space is limited!
Dates Offered:
Nature and Textiles
Experiment with natural dyes made from plant materials and create beautiful textiles. Explore fabric painting, printing and marbling.
This series will take place on eight Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm, January 22 - March 12th. CCS will provide all of the art supplies needed.
Glass Art A
Discover the magic of glass! Working with hot, molten glass, learn to make flowers, candy canes, ornaments, paperweights and more. Glass blowing, slumping and molding will be introduced. Ages 16 and over.
*Please note that this glass blowing class is limited to first-time participants, so if you have previously attended this class, we kindly ask you to allow others the opportunity to join.
Classes meet Sundays, January 26 - February 16, 2025 (four sessions).

Glass Art B

Watercolor Painting
Create works of art with watercolors! Through guided lessons, explore essential techniques such as color mixing, wet-on-wet application, and brush control.
This series will take place on Tuesday evenings from 4-7 pm, March 18 - April 22. CCS will provide all of the art supplies.
