Mary Jane “MJ” Vogt
Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer
Mary Jane “MJ” Vogt was appointed Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer at Henry Ford Health in 2019. In this role, she leads the philanthropic and fundraising arm for the health system including strategic planning, solicitation strategy, special events, community sponsorship and more – all for the purpose of making a difference for the patients and communities Henry Ford serves.
MJ oversees a team of seasoned development and fundraising professionals who ensure a great donor experience. In 2023, philanthropic support for our mission was record setting for a second year in a row, with nearly $240 million raised to be invested back into our communities. Donor support demonstrates a profound belief in our mission and our vision to foster better health for all.
Since joining Henry Ford in 1997, MJ has earned great distinction for her leadership, fundraising, strategic planning and operational management skills. She is credited with modernizing the employee and physician giving campaign that yielded millions in support of our mission from team members. The substantial dollars raised over consecutive years and brought national recognition for its success and organization. She also broadened by two-fold the breadth and depth of the donor base, co-led the largest fundraising campaign in Henry Ford’s history at that time, Envision, and led a 250% growth in major gift giving.
As an active community member, MJ serves on the boards of Gleaners Community Food Bank, Sparky Anderson’s CATCH Charity for Children, City Year Detroit and Connect 313.
MJ earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s degree from Michigan State University.
