All of Us Research Program

All of Us frontWhat is the All of Us Research Program?

At the moment, health care is often one-size-fits-all. But imagine a future where your health treatments are tailored to you and your family. This is called precision medicine. And we can make that future possible.

The goal of All of Us is to create the largest health data resource in history. By enrolling one million people – including children – who represent the many diverse backgrounds across the United States, researchers will be able better understand what makes us sick and what keeps us healthy.

Pediatric Enrollment

Children have not always been included in research. When families enroll their children in All of Us, they can help researchers understand how children change and develop over time. We hope to help researchers study children’s health in ways that have not been possible before, such as:

  • What things keep children healthy and help them thrive?
  • How does a child’s environment impact their growth and development?
  • Why do some children get sick, but others don't?

Now at Henry Ford Health, we are enrolling ages 0-4 and expanding to older ages in the near future.

  • How to join

All of Us How to JoinTo get started, create your All of Us account at www.joinallofus.org.

After your account is set up, you can create and add your child’s account under the ‘My Family’ tab in your profile. If you do not see this section in your profile, please reach out to the Henry Ford All of Us team for assistance.

Because All of Us is a research program, you will be asked to complete a digital informed consent process. The consents tell you more about what is involved, and the potential benefits and risks

You and/or your child will then be asked to share information through online surveys. These may include questions about where you live or work, your health history, environmental and socioeconomic factors that may affect your health.
Some participants may also be invited for an in-person visit at a Henry Ford All of Us family enrollment location to collect physical measurements and/or donate blood and urine samples.

Each family member who completes the in-person visit will receive a $25 gift card. In addition to the gift card, each child will receive a small thank you gift, such as a toy.

From time to time, we’ll invite you and your child to answer more questions. You can always decide how much or how little you and your child share with the program.

Details below show interested participants how they can take part in the program.

Research Highlights and Hub

By joining the All of Us Research Program, you’re helping to build a one-of-a-kind data resource for researchers to use. What they discover could lead to better treatments and disease prevention strategies for everyone.

The Research Hub allows everyone to learn more about the types of data participants are providing and how approved researchers can use our data and tools to conduct studies that may speed up medical breakthroughs.
