EMT Program
The EMT program at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital meets and exceeds State of Michigan and Emergency Medical Technician National Standard Curriculum requirements. This program consists of both classroom and online components (depending on the delivery model), providing a flexible yet rigorous learning environment. Clinical rotations are performed within various clinical partners around Michigan, offering hands-on experience in high-acuity settings. Successful completion of the Henry Ford Genesys Hospital EMT Program prepares the student for the NREMT Exam and State of Michigan licensure.
2026 Online/Hybrid RN to EMT Program
The RN to EMT program provides an accelerated hybrid pathway for Registered Nurses who meet admission criteria to adapt their expertise to the pre-hospital environment. This 10-week course features eight weeks of asynchronous online learning supported by bi-weekly optional tutoring, followed by intensive in-person labs (Week 9) and final testing beginning in Week 10.
Participants must complete 24 hours of required clinicals in the pre-hospital setting at one of our contracted EMS agencies. While the course follows a set schedule, graduation is dynamic and occurs once all clinical and competency requirements are met. Successful completion prepares students for the NREMT Exam and State of Michigan licensure.
