Liz Tucker

I'm a big dreamer from a small town in Northern Michigan, where I learned the value of community engagement through volunteering and event management. I spent six years studying communication and business management during my undergraduate and graduate programs. I'm deeply committed to ensuring HAP members get the best possible care at the right time and the lowest cost, and I use my skills in project management and process improvement to support that commitment. I spend my free time hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail (39 miles completed), reading new research on social determinants on health, and fostering rescue dogs for Great Lakes Boxer Rescue.

Healthcare effectiveness practices have advanced exponentially in the past 100 years, and it's imperative we continue pushing the boundaries of our existing body of knowledge to provide the best treatments and outcomes for patients. This is especially critical in areas like Detroit, where many residents face struggles with transportation, housing, food insecurity, and other social obstacles to living happy, healthy lives.
