Angela Murphy, MEd, RN, CHES

Angela Murphy has been with Henry Ford Health for 10 years. She is currently the manager of the Patient Education and Health Literacy department. She is a registered nurse and has held various positions within healthcare including inpatient staff nurse, ambulatory nurse, school nurse, nurse supervisor, and a quality specialist. Angela has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Education, and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

Her various roles helped her see opportunity in the way we educate our patients and their families. Angela found a position to establish a patient education program for Henry Ford Health, and this program continues to grow and advance in the work to make Henry Ford Health a more health literate organization. Her strong desire to make sure patients can access, understand, and apply health information is the catalyst for this difficult work.
