Samer Abou Arbid

I completed my Emergency Medicine residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon. I currently moved to Michigan to complete my fellowship in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound at Henry Ford Hospital main campus.

I think that, similar to medicine, helping people is the main driver of innovation in healthcare. Innovations in healthcare will equip doctors and healthcare organizations with the resources they need to concentrate more on patient needs, and at the same time assist people improve their lives, whether it is through new technologies, new treatments, or new processes. During my medical residency in Lebanon, I was lucky to witness the incorporation of a new electronic health system and to witness the changes that followed at an institutional level: efficient medical care delivery, better communication between medical teams, better patient communication.
