Funding Sources

On average, the Division receives more than $4 million dollars in research grants annually from the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association and its affiliates and pharmaceutical companies. Each year our fellows compete successfully for postdoctoral awards from the Midwest Affiliate of the American Heart Association. This is the first step in the development of grant-writing skills. Our funding contributes to a stable and supportive environment that allows trainees to focus on developing research skills and initiatives.
