Education

Daily Morning Lectures

  • Cover a variety of specialties and topics
  • Presented by residents, faculty, and visiting guest speakers
  • Lectures are often interactive and develop critical thinking skills

Daily Noon Board Review

  • Consists entirely of MKSAP board prep questions
  • Provides a collaborative atmosphere for residents and medical students to review test-taking skills and newly emerging guidelines

Monthly Journal Club

  • Residents present an overview of a study of their own choosing
  • Discussion takes place after each presentation to analyze the study and its biostatistical methods

Research Activities

  • Residents are involved in various research activities, including poster presentations, case reports, and randomized controlled trials
  • Interns are encouraged to engage in research projects early on. QI chiefs maintain a list of ongoing projects
  • Biostatistician Judith Boura assists with biostatistical analysis of research projects through the GME department
  • QI block during PGY-1 allows residents to introduce themselves to quality improvement methods and start projects

MSU SCS offers lectures, certification courses, workshops, and webinars throughout the academic year.
