Interventional Cardiology Fellowship

Henry Ford St. John Hospital's Interventional Fellowship is an ACGME accredited one year training program. Annually, 3-4 fellows are selected for the program through the ERAS process.

The program offers comprehensive training in all aspects of Interventional Cardiology. Fellows receive excellent training in simple and complex coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart disease. Fellows are encouraged to participate in structural procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, mitral clip and watchman procedures. Fellows train at Henry Ford Rochester Hospital for 3 months each year, as well as train in ambulatory care with a faculty member for half a day each week.

At the Catheterization Conferences, Didactic Education is provided two times a week. Fellows present challenging and interesting cases, with extensive discussion and review by senior faculty. Journal clubs are also a regular part of the educational activities. Throughout the year, nationally and internationally recognized cardiology faculty are invited for the Grand Rounds, providing the opportunity to interact and perform catheterization lab cases with them.

Fellows are expected to participate in research, offer meaningful publications, and present at local and national conferences. Each fellow has structured time for research (6 weeks per year).
