Men’s Health/Andrology Fellowship
The Men’s Health/Andrology fellowship program at Henry Ford provides the urologist an opportunity to gain all the tools and expertise necessary to become a thought leader in the field of men’s health. The fellowship has an emphasis on male reproductive medicine and surgery, sexual dysfunction including Peyronie’s disease and complex urologic prosthetics, hypogonadism, as well as male reconstructive surgery.

Overview of Fellowship Program/Description of Program:
The Men’s Health/Andrology Fellowship program will enable the trainee to gain an advanced body of knowledge and surgical skill in the management of men with reproductive and sexual conditions as well as urologic reconstruction. This includes the management, evaluation, and treatment of:
- Erectile dysfunction including the use of penile ultrasound
- Peyronie’s disease
- Ejaculatory dysfunction
- Testosterone deficiency
- Male infertility including obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermia
- Vasectomy and vasectomy reversal
- Chronic scrotal pain
- Conditions related to GU cancer survivorship
- Male urologic reconstruction including urethroplasty, scrotoplasty, buried penis and other genital reconstructive procedures
Fellowship Summary:
The fellow has 90% clinical and 10% research time. They attend 1-2 specialty men’s health clinics per week where they work alongside our faculty in evaluating patients. In addition, they have their own fellow clinic 1 day per week. They spend 2-2.5 days per week in the operating room performing various surgeries related to infertility, sexual dysfunction, and reconstructive urology. Regular attendance at department grand rounds and journal clubs is expected. Fellows are also expected to help teach residents and medical students. There are focused didactic sessions on various andrology and reconstructive urology topics.
Fellows will become proficient in the evaluation and management of male infertility, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, ejaculatory dysfunction, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, hypogonadism, chronic scrotal pain, anterior and posterior urethral strictures, chronic scrotal edema, buried penis, and conditions related to GU cancer survivorship.

Unique qualities:
The fellowship program provides the fellow with the opportunity to train with 2 experts in the field of male infertility and sexual medicine gaining a unique perspective from each of our faculty. The fellow will also work with our reconstructive urologist on complex reconstructive cases including open and robotic reconstruction. This will allow the trainee to finish with a wide range of skills that will enable them to become a future leader in the field of men’s health.
