Grand Blanc Overview

Grand Blanc Township was incorporated on April 1, 1833. It is viewed as a premier community and boasts of its rich history and humble beginnings.

The community, located in gently rolling hills, has an innovative approach to community development. It has top-rated public, parochial and private schools, providing incentives and opportunities for educational achievement, distinctive subdivisions and home sites plus quality apartments, townhouses and condominiums.

The lifestyle within our area is further enhanced by a whole variety of recreational facilities: golf courses, both public and private, a recreational program, which operates year-round, and Creasey Bicentennial Park, which features a softball complex, Little League, tennis courts, pavilions and a fitness trail. Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club is host to the Ally Challenge, an annual PGA Tour Champions event, that brings Grand Blanc to the national spotlight one weekend a year.

The area offers many venues to enjoy the best of Michigan’s great outdoors. The 3 area parks boast sprawling acres of wooded terrain which is home to an abundance of wildlife and waterfowl. Enjoy a multitude of recreational activities throughout the year, from biking and hiking to cross-country skiing and tobogganing.

Grand Blanc is perfectly situated in the ideal location, giving access to all that Detroit and Southeast Michigan has to offer, while also easily offering a trip North to Traverse City, Mackinac Island and the abundance of beauty that exists in the Upper Peninsula. Detroit is hopping with events, festivals, sports teams, casinos, the Detroit Institute of Art and fun attractions like Campus Martius, Eastern Market, Corktown, and the Riverwalk. Heading North gives you access to more than 300 waterfalls scattered across the U.P., Traverse City’s many wineries and vineyards, and the splendor of yesteryear on Mackinac Island, where there is no vehicle traffic permitted.

Staying local offers the opportunity to explore Genesee County, which has plenty of activities and noteworthy attractions of its own. The Flint Farmers Market is always a great way to spend a Saturday, especially after a visit to the Mott Estate, Applewood, which offers free entry and tours of the estate, as well as ongoing events throughout the spring, summer and fall. The Flint cultural area offers the Longway Planetarium, the Sloane Museum, the Flint Institute of Arts, the Flint School of Performing Arts and the Whiting, where there is always a great concert or show in the lineup. The downtown Flint area has been constantly expanding with great restaurants and cafes, shops and an old-school arcade. The city of Fenton also offers some really spectacular restaurants, shops and apple orchards for the quintessential Michigan fall.

There is something for everyone here in our Great Lakes state!
