The HFPN is a clinically integrated network, or a CIN. By definition, a CIN is a group of healthcare providers – physicians, hospitals, clinics, labs, post-acute care specialists, etc. – who join together to improve health outcomes for patients and reduce the overall cost of care. The HFPN is comprised of physician organizations, including the Henry Ford Medical Group, along with hundreds of independent specialists and primary care physicians.

Successful CINs also need to have a way to exchange healthcare information, such as operating on the same electronic medical record, such as Epic for the HFPN. All private practice member physicians have the opportunity, through the HFPN, to purchase Epic at a greatly reduced price to help them heighten their integration within the network.
