Medical Student Policies

Insurance

All students are required to have personal health insurance. Henry Ford Health does not accept liability for emergency health cost incurred during student rotations. All students are required to have personal health insurance. Henry Ford Warren does not accept liability for emergency health cost incurred during student rotations. Liability insurance must be through the student’s school. We do not accept third-party liability insurances.

Required Immunizations:

Students are required to provide a copy of the following immunizations before starting a visiting rotation:

• Annual Influenza Vaccination
• Tuberculin test is required. Chest X-Ray is required if TB test is positive.
• Effective November 13, 2021 Henry Ford Warren Hospital requires all associates, volunteers, visiting residents, and medical students obtain their COVID vaccination. Associates my only decline vaccination if they provide supporting documentation of an acceptable medical or religious reason.
• Full immunization record (which provides a history of all the vaccines you have received as child or an adult).

Visiting Student Housing

Housing is available by application in order of received at the Henry Ford Madison Heights Campus. Space is limited and it is recommended you apply for housing at the time application. The apartments are double and quadruple rooms. Each unit is furnished with stove, refrigerator, couch, and tables. Students are required to provide their own bedding and bathroom toiletries.
