LaparAssist, Inc.

LaparAssist, Inc. is a company founded by MSU biomedical engineering doctoral students in collaboration with Dr. Annmarie Vilkins, a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon at Henry Ford Health. The venture was born from the collaborative environment fostered by Henry Ford Innovations and Michigan State University Health Sciences.

• Innovation: Developed a device using a laser pointer mounted on headgear, activated by a foot pedal, to improve communication during laparoscopic procedures.
• Impact: Secured a patent and launched the company, enhancing surgical training and patient safety.

Navv Systems, Inc.

Navv Systems, Inc. is a spin-off of Henry Ford Health, developing and selling NavvTrack®, an indoor location platform for healthcare systems.

• Innovation: Provides traffic control for healthcare facilities, improving operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Impact: Secured $3.2M in 'Series Seed' financing, supporting further development and commercialization.

Agamon

Agamon's platform improves patient care coordination by preventing missed clinical recommendations and automating the timely review of large report volumes.

• Innovation: Provides patient-friendly reports that simplify medical language, helping patients understand their conditions and follow-up actions.
• Impact: Co-developed and commercialized the technology in the United States, enhancing communication between providers and patients.
