Overview: Empowering Healthcare Innovators

The Davidson Fellowship for Innovation in Healthcare, a cornerstone of Henry Ford Innovations’ education program, offers a unique 9-month professional development opportunity. The program is designed for healthcare leaders, including clinicians and administrators, to learn how to address healthcare challenges through innovative solutions.

Participants will develop skills in healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization, supported by mentorship from experienced innovators, advanced academic instructors, investors, and intellectual property experts. This fellowship fosters a culture of cross-disciplinary innovation, preparing participants to lead and drive change in the healthcare environment.

Program Summary

The Davidson Fellowship runs from September to June, with meetings held once a month. Participants engage in a structured curriculum, including lectures — delivered by accomplished subject matter experts representing HFH and its corporate community — and a team-based project aimed at solving a real-world healthcare problem. Fellows are expected to dedicate approximately 8 hours per month to program-related activities, including readings and external assignments.

For example, Navv Systems, specializing in indoor location mapping solutions for healthcare, emerged from a Davidson Institute group project and has successfully secured its second round of professional venture financing.
