Deanna Simpkins-Phillips

Central Authorization (CA)

Deanna Simpkins-Phillips is an analyst for Central Authorization (CA) at Henry Ford Health. Her primary functions include working with Helios and Cadence Epic teams to ensure referrals route to the appropriate CA work queues for authorization procurement for outpatient services, developing training materials and tools to help CA specialists remain abreast of payer authorization requirements, and working with diverse groups within Henry Ford Health to develop more efficient processes for authorization procurement. Her passion is to ensure patients can easily access and navigate electronic applications, such as MyChart, to manage their healthcare. She has over 13 years of experience in revenue cycle and customer experience.

Deanna received her Master of Science in Administration – Leadership from Central Michigan University in May 2020. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Eastern Michigan University and an associate degree in Business Administration from Oakland Community College. Due to her love of continuing education and skill development, Deanna is currently pursuing an associate degree in Cybersecurity. In her spare time, Deanna enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
