Raj K ModakRaj K. Modak, M.D. joined the Henry Ford Healthcare System in Detroit, Michigan with affiliation with the Wayne State School of Medicine in 2016. He is currently serving as the Division Head of Adult Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiology and Program Director of Henry Ford’s ACGME recognized ACTA Fellowship. During his previous 20-year tenure at Yale School of Medicine, he completed residency in Anesthesiology, fellowships in both Cardiac and Critical Care Anesthesiology. With dual training, Dr. Modak serves Henry Ford Hospital with direct care of patients going for cardiac, vascular and thoracic related surgery and intensivist coverage of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. As Program Director, he has and is continually working with residents, fellows and faculty to improve education and interests in cardiac anesthesiology and critical care. Dr. Modak was awarded department Faculty Awards for Excellence in Education and Leadership twice (2006 and 2017). His clinical research interests include mechanical properties of the human aorta and difficult ventilator weaning. One of his most noticeable educational works includes an anesthesia review book titled: Anesthesiology Keywords Review. Dr. Modak’s career has shown strong interests towards invention, innovation and entrepreneurialism.
