Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Derek is a physical therapist who has been working at Henry Ford for twenty years now. He holds a clinical doctorate in physical therapy, is a board-certified sport specialist and has a certification in manual therapy. Derek is also the rehab service line educator for the medical group and is very interested in enhancing the use of technology within out-patient rehabilitation services. He hopes to improve patient outcomes using technology via a variety of methods which include: making it easier to perform home exercises correctly, improving compliance and targeting motivating factors.
Derek is married and has two young girls who keep him busy. He also hopes that some of the knowledge gained during the Fellowship will allow him to keep up with his daughters’ use of technology. He enjoys running, biking and staying active.
