Program Structure & Curriculum

The Davidson Fellowship offers a comprehensive educational experience, integrating formal classroom learning with practical, team-based projects. This program is designed for individuals who are passionate about healthcare innovation, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and network needed to address critical issues in healthcare.

Program Duration and Schedule:

  • Duration: September 2025 to June 2026
  • Meeting Times: Sessions are held for 4 hours on the second Friday morning of each month.

Key Components:

  • Classroom Curriculum: Each month, fellows participate in structured learning sessions that cover essential topics in healthcare innovation. These include:
    • Intellectual Property: Understanding patents, copyrights, and trademarks.
    • Competitive and Market Analysis: Identifying and aligning market needs.
    • Economic Modeling: Establishing financial needs and exploring financing options from grants to public capital markets.
    • Regulatory Navigation: Learning about FDA regulations, HIPAA compliance, and reimbursement strategies.
    • Entrepreneurial Skills: Developing skills in areas like non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing, and presentation fundamentals.
  • Team-Based Innovation Project: Fellows work in dedicated teams to identify and solve real-world healthcare challenges. The project culminates in a final presentation where teams pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of judges, simulating a real-world investment scenario.

  • May 8, 2026: Presenting Innovation
  • June 12, 2026: Final Presentation Showcase

Workload and Assignments: Fellows are expected to dedicate approximately 8 hours per month to program-related activities, including readings, assignments, and project work.
