Residency Application
We are an ACGME-accredited program. We accept M.D. and D.O. applicants who have completed the COMLEX or USMLE. We carefully review applications, taking into account academics, character, and life experiences.

- Foreign medical graduates are accepted; U.S. clinical experience preferred
- Must pass USMLE or COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2
- We accept J1 visas
The AAIM has developed guidelines to help the GME community navigate the complexities of the interview scheduling process, and our program is going to make every effort to follow the best practices as set forth by AAIM.
We will start our interview process in mid to late October.
Our Internal Medicine program will continue using Program Signals (12 silver and 3 gold) as part of the holistic application review.
Our policy regarding Program Signal is as stated below:
“The Internal Medicine Residency program at Henry Ford Providence Hospital intent to use program signals as part of our holistic review processes. While we preferentially review applications from those who signal our program, we also consider applicants who do not signal to us. Though we are electing to use program signals as part of our holistic review process, please know that program signals do not guarantee an interview.”
