Headache Medicine Fellowship
Welcome from the Program Director
Welcome to the Headache Medicine Fellowship Program at Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit.
It is my honor to serve as Program Director of our fellowship program and to lead a fellowship dedicated to clinical excellence, academic rigor, and compassionate patient care. Our program is designed to train the next generation of leaders in headache medicine—physicians who are not only skilled clinicians, but also educators, scholars, and advocates for patients living with complex and often disabling headache disorders.
Headache disorders remain one of the most common and undertreated neurologic conditions worldwide. Through comprehensive training in migraine, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, secondary headache disorders, procedural therapies, neuromodulation, behavioral integration, and multidisciplinary care, our fellows develop the expertise necessary to provide evidence-based, patient-centered treatment across diverse clinical settings.
Our fellowship emphasizes:
- Advanced diagnostic evaluation and management of primary and secondary headache disorders
- Procedural proficiency (e.g., nerve blocks, onabotulinumtoxinA, infusion therapies)
- Integration of behavioral and lifestyle approaches
- Scholarly activity, quality improvement, and research development
- Teaching opportunities with residents and medical students
- Leadership development within academic and community practice
We are deeply committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where fellows are challenged, mentored, and empowered. Individualized career development is a cornerstone of our program, whether your goals include academic medicine, clinical leadership, research, or innovative community practice.
Most importantly, we cultivate a culture of respect, collaboration, and wellness—recognizing that the work we do for patients requires us to also care for ourselves and each other.
Thank you for your interest in our Headache Medicine Fellowship here at Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit. We look forward to partnering with you in advancing the field and improving the lives of patients affected by headache disorders.
