Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program

Training: Four year program
Positions: Approved for twelve residents

Curriculum

The Obstetrics & Gynecology program is designed to utilize the extensive resources of the Henry Ford Health, our affiliated training institutions and the Statewide Campus System of Michigan State University of Osteopathic Medicine. Current curriculum is made up of 13 blocks consisting of 4 weeks each.

PGY 1
Obstetrics
3.5 blocks
Gynecology 3 blocks
Obstetrics Nights 2 blocks
OB Ultrasound 1 block
SICU 1 block
Emergency Medicine 1 block
Medical ICU .5 block
Infectious Disease .5 block
Breast Surgery .5 block
PGY 2
Obstetrics
5 blocks
Gynecology 5 blocks
Obstetrics Nights 2 blocks
Urogynecology 1 block
(Urogynecology rotation requirement met via weekly clinics with in-house certified urogynecologist, urogynecological surgeries, and one month out-rotation.)
PGY 3
Obstetrics 4 blocks
Gynecology 6 blocks
Obstetrics Nights 1 block
Maternal-Fetal Medicine 1 block
Elective 1 block
(MFM rotation requirement met via weekly clinics with in-house certified MFM and one month out-rotation. GYN oncology requirement met via GYN oncology lectures, frequent GYN oncological surgeries with in-house certified GYN oncological surgeon and weekly GYN oncology clinics.)
