Audition Rotation
During this 4-week rotation, students will function as sub-interns and work one-on-one with senior residents and core faculty. The rotation is clinically focused, and students are free to see and pick up any chart and staff with one of the residents/ faculty. You will be an integral member of the team, providing valuable history-taking, a broad differential, a concise plan and will also be assisting with procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, ultrasound-guided diagnostic exam and peripheral IV access, central venous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and more.
You will be directly given feedback on your work. We are an easy-going, no judgment group of people who are passionate about teaching. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn will take you a long way! Our goal is to offer you a highly immersive experience as an emergency medicine resident in a busy community hospital. Our high patient volume and acuity will provide extensive opportunities to develop essential emergency skills, including stabilization, multi-tasking, teamwork, and more.
Students are expected to attend weekly didactics every Wednesday. SLOES are available upon request.
